All-purpose units for warehouses, stockrooms and machine shops. Clip-type Shelving excels in the strength to weight ratio with the ability to store from 350 lbs. up to 2,000 lbs. per level. Each shelf begins as one sheet of metal that undergoes a state-of-the-art production process to end as one piece of roll-formed steel. The result is a lightweight product that has been reinforced with flanged edges. Box beam construction (a hollow, roll formed tube) adds strength to the front and back edges while the sides are double flanged for support. No additional support is required, but can be added to increase the weight capacity of each shelf.

A unique advancement to this very basic shelving product was made many years ago with the introduction of the “Box Shelf Design”. This shelf is a standard shelf but the manufacturer overcuts the steel on the front and the rear and bends it in 3 places, essentially making a small “box” under the front and rear lip of the shelf. What these additional bends in the metal does is increase the weight capacity of the shelf from 350 lbs. capacity to over 800 lbs. capacity, all using the same gauge steel! This system is often referred to as Boxer Shelving.

The entire “CLIP SHELVING” system is named after the small clip that hooks into the notches of the posts (occasionally called uprights). Even though it is a very simple design, it creates a very tight, secure connection, clipping each shelf directly to the post. All posts are notched on 1″ centers, meaning that you can adjust the height of your shelf to suit your storage needs.

NOTE: We always suggest bolting the top and bottom shelf directly to the post and clipping all of the intermediate shelves. We have found that makes for a much tighter and secure installation.
