Mezzanines

Convert unused overhead space into valuable floor space with structural or modular steel Mezzanines. Mezzanines are a low cost, tax-saving alternative to costly building construction. A Mezzanine can double or even triple your existing space at up to 80% less than the cost of a building addition. Our mezzanines are ideal for many uses including work platforms, warehouse storage areas, in-plant offices, conveyor support platforms, parts and record storage, equipment and machine platforms, manufacturing break rooms and viewing areas, product distribution centers, retail backroom, overstock storage, entertainment/amusement centers and health clubs.

A Mezzanine completely utilizes existing cubic space without additional heating or air conditioning costs and increases your workspace. Select the ideal size, or combination of sizes, to suit your application. Mezzanines feature many capacities to suit every need. Mezzanines can be easily expanded and relocated. Mezzanines are designed and built in three basic configurations…

Structural Mezzanines are completely designed and built primarily out of high strength structural steel. These mezzanines are primarily constructed out of structural I-Beams. Structural mezzanines offer the greatest load bearing capacities and can span the greatest lengths without the need for support columns. They also allow the greatest amount of clear space under the structure.
Channel Mezzanines are designed and built primarily out of structural channel. These mezzanines are primarily constructed out of “C” channel. Channel mezzanines offer a cost savings but include more support column in their design. They also allow the greatest amount of clear space under the structure.
Steel Truss Mezzanines are designed and built primarily out of pre-engineered steel trusses. These mezzanines are cost effective, can span great lengths but, by their design offer the least amount of clear space under the structure.

There are many different styles of deck surfaces for Structural or Modular Mezzanines. The most common types are:

Plywood On B-Deck: A durable, economical choice suitable for in-plant offices, enclosures as well as a variety of other uses. The 20-gauge galvanized B-deck is used as the standard to prevent rust and paint chipping encountered in shipping and contact points. This helps mezzanines maintain a like new appearance for years. B-deck is typically covered with one or two layers of tongue and groove (T&G) plywood.

Open Bar Grating: By far the strongest and most versatile type of open deck available. It allows maximum transfer of heat, sound, and ventilation between levels.

Diamond Plate Decking: Provides outstanding wear resistance, with embossed pattern to reduce slippage. This is the material of choice for heavy loads and to resist damage from forklift traffic. The strength of the steel helps to distribute concentrated loads. Steel deck is also available without a diamond pattern.

Engineered Materials: Various brands of wear-resistant deck material are recommended in applications requiring a solid floor which may be subject to heavy traffic loads from wheeled carts, dollies or lifts.

Concrete: Poured-in-place concrete over B-deck is available for any application which requires it. Concrete is often specified in sites which require all fireproof materials, but can be applied in any facility which needs the durability and permanence only concrete can offer.

All of our mezzanines meet OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), BOCA (Building Officials and Code Administrators), UBC (Uniform Building Code) and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards.
